Only 3 Turbo Commanders on Controller! That has to be a record low. And one of them is the 900 that Eagle Creek got out of Venezuela and have been advertising for years.

It could be a lack of inventory to trade up—assuming that is what most sellers would do.
A decent dash 10 690B with good times will trade in the high 9’s or higher, but an equivalent airframe with better range and speed will likely mean turbofan territory at obscene prices. Plus insurance is hard on transition pilots.

Looking back to 2019 at Eagle Creeks price list shows some interesting pricing.
The 1000’s were high even back then.
N730MV listed at $1,595,000
N695AB 1,395,000
N695HT, 1,350,000
All the dash 10 690A/Bs were asking 700,00 and up.
N690PT was the lowest, N690HF was the highest.
YV1173, A Venezuelan 900–was asking 895,000 back then.

Scott at Byerly mentioned a really nice 690-10-stec3100 bird sold above 1.2.
Wonder if the market is getting softer now.

674NM is a 690A back on the market, showing up on controller.
Back in 2020 they wanted $795 for it.
It’s one of the Chelton flight logic planes. I read a long review of that system. Supposed to be a pretty good system once you learned how it worked, but it’s an odd-ball system now.
Low time on the dash 10T.
Given the shortage of inventory, it will be interesting to see if this one moves quickly.

Seems like quite a few Commanders on the market now, at least as compared to the last few years!

Show x7, still seems pretty low.
Gotta wonder Don- I think of that indonesian 980.  Why ferry it all the way back and let it sit?  They do refurbs down there in AZ?  Perhaps getting it to 100% to sell?

Looks like 45RF (NOAA), is now N695z to sandborn mapping.  Wondering why a fully loaded 695 becomes a survey aircraft, when you could find a much cheaper -5 690?   I would think there would be a market for a corporate 695?  Any thoughts?

N45RF had a lot of specialized equipment, and I would guess that Sunburn isn't using her as a run of the mill mapping aircraft, but rather for some other specialized purpose that makes use of the provisions NOAA installed, if not some of the equipment.

Thanks as always Don, just hate to see them not flying passengers...

Interesting read from 2016, but remember seeing this bird

Great news for any prospective Commander buyer: An absolutely awesome 980 is back on the market no fault of the plane. Ready for immediate delivery, N9812S has zero hours on a fresh purchaser’s inspection at Legacy Aviation, Oklahoma City. 3rd party Borescopes show the 7,000 hour TBO configuration engines to look like new inside.

Tell a friend and let’s find a great home for this 980, one of the absolute best in the world.

Failure to close.  First one of those in a long time. Sadly he got me on two at the same time!

Ouch!

I have to say after running up and down the west coast in my 980 last week, I sure love it! I think of it as my 300 knot flying carpet.

Exactly!  After all the years and all the planes, type ratings, etc, it’s hard to beat them.  I have been running up and down the east coast in a -10 840.  Naples to New Hampshire. Go 1250-1300nm, land with 800 lbs. in 5 hours into a 65 knot headwind for most of it! Need a CJ3 to top that. It does not get old and I hope I can do it for many more years.

Looks like the market has slowed down quite a bit, based on the listings on controller?

Did the fire guys get all the airplanes they needed?

I see N9812S still on the market, not a great sign... Steve, maybe it's a sign from the universe that you should keep her!
