RE: Foreflight for Aero Commander
I have been working with Foreflight to have them create a Performance Profile for the 500S, B, and U. It’s a pretty involved process which takes hours. They are backlogged with more current airplanes and we are kind of in the back of the line.. I’ve already sent in a 500S POH which they have received. With the Performance Profile it would give us some important data that we all could use. Like runway lengths for departure and destination airports, etc.
They are asking for Commander pilots to send a quick email to their support team at Foreflight …. team@foreflight.com and ask if they could create a performance profile for the 500S, B, & U models. If they get enough requests it would really help us all out and get to our planes done sooner.

Do you know if they have it for the Turbo Commanders?

I believe they do.. I'm pretty sure they have most of the turbo Commanders.
It just seems like the 500 piston guys..... we are the Forgotten Ones.... lol
I've even called and emailed Twin Commander Aircraft https://twincommander.com/ a bunch of times and questioned, Why don't they have a 500 drop down box under Models on the main web page? ... and all I get is "we will look into that"

I believe in Foreflight under aircraft type all the Commanders models are listen under AC90

Thank you so much for sending an email.
The more emails Foreflight gets the faster they will get to us. Yes, there are still enough 500 guys around to make some noise at Foreflight.

I made one using the POH for a 500B. Does anyone know if it can be shared?

Thank you for making that 500B chart. I made one, as well, but mine was all WAG, based upon experience. I will compare the two and probably go more for your numbers.

I want to thank everyone that has sent in emails to Foreflight. Apparently we've made at least some noise and I've been getting some feedback from Foreflight. They are having a meeting here soon to discuss a Performance Profile for the AC-50 S, B, & U models. I've already have sent a POH for the 500S but they are also requesting a POH for the B & U models. I believe the numbers are the same for all 3 models except for maneuvering speeds, But I believe its a legality issue to have a POH for the B & U.
Does anyone have a POH in a PDF file for the 500B & U models ? Thanks

Hi Ray, I received your text. I’m not sure I understand the issue as it seems like they could call it an AC50 as they are all AC50’s and use Shrike data and call it good. There’s far more difference between planes and mods (boots for example) than any book data that exits. I think you can create and share your own profile. We could compare our performance. Anyway, at a given weight, temp, etc they all seem to do about the same as far as I can tell?

Hello Everyone!,
I wanted to let everyone know that Foreflight has finally done a performance profile for the AC-50 (500B & 500S). You can do a search for Aero Commander (foreflight.com/aircraft/library).
Hope this will help some of us out with flight planning.
I want to thank everyone that sent request for a AC-50 performance profile which helped us get it sooner. Originally they were telling me it would be a year or so since they had so many aircraft backlogged.
