Oshkosh 2018
« on: June 26, 2018, 06:56:18 pm »
I’m planning on spending a fair part of the week there this year with family. Not camping as we rented a house. So, I am thinking of parking the 500B in Vintage and likely a turbine at the hotel at some point.

Anyone else dropping in?

Any parking strategies? Seems like vintage is in the middle of the action with Twin parking in a good spot.  Do you need to arrive on Saturday to get a good spot?

My buddy is threatening to get his T6 checkout and fly their club's one out for the T6 anniverary. Trying to draft me to back-seat... not sure if I have the VAC time but we'll see how that pans out... bucket list item for sure, much less in a T6.

Know nothing about parking or logistics, just saying...

I am hoping to go again this year.  Last year  I parked my 500B at Appleton and camped on their airfield.  Nice concrete parking spot and good FBO support.  Vintage is also a great option, I think.  I would rather be there where all the action is!  Saturday is the day I try to fly in each year.  A little less traffic and another day or two to wander around.

Steve - I’m just hoping the spot comes through.  I’d rather have your plane to show off so let’s talk!

I am planning on flying to Cabo that weekend, but we have not reserved a room yet.

My yougest son and some friends are going to be there.  I thought it would be fun to be there at the same time.

I have not been to Oshkosh for over 20 years, I am due for a trip.

Who's at OSH?

I have a 500B in the south side of VAC and a -10 840 on the way to the Hilton.

If you want to see the planes or otherwise talk Commanders, give me a shout.  I'm planning to depart Friday morning.

Gonna miss it this year, too. With the planes I tend to own, I suspect I'll miss it every year in perpetuity!  ;)
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.
