I think he meant that the 690 environmental system just works, not that it works all that well.

The Keith Freon system in any Commander works great, and cools it very well. With my setup, with the Sundstrand ECU (which puts out quite a bit of air) and the Keith Freon, cooling is never an issue.

I remember some hot days in 690s and Jetprops without freon, though, and that was not pleasant.

Bruce-- what would you say are the advantages of a 690 over a Jetprop?
3) environmental. It's like an iron skillet

What ways do you recommend to cool of 840s on the ground?

Bruce- I see the name 'David Miller' for quite a few 840's out there, are you familiar with the owner?  Seems to have more than one commander.

Jason - I believe that name to be part of an energy company out of Dallas who owned up to 8 at one time. I believe they are back to one or two.

I remember seeing pics of this plane after a hard landing bent the tail a bit.

Jason - thought of you and family as I’m departing PHL right now. Man, the rain was crazy! A bunch of people were turning around due to flash flood water crossing the roads. My rental car did well! Anyway, the 840 is $795,000 ask. It’s a good plane. Quality repairs don’t hurt these planes at their age. They probably improve them if anything.
