I’ll tell you all the story when able. For the moment, the names of the guilty parties shall remain protected  ;)

Is this the same "nameless" 690 on ferry? Or another bird? Either way, never good seeing one "in the cage"...

I guess some of the more interesting support tasks come with the territory.

No, it’s not ideal but a precautionary one due to the engine stuck at higher power than practical for landing.  As far as failure modes go, it was uneventful as it came with warning including decreasing responsiveness.

I was hoping it was a post-engine or prop change test flight!

How about a more uplifting test flight: 300+ KTAS at FL350!!

Unbeatable fuel economy! 58gal/hr doing 300kts.
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

Was is it a FCU drive failure that caused the need for an engine shut down?

Hi Steve.  No I think it’s some pneumatic or internal mechanical function but I don’t remember the specific internal parts wear/failure mode. I think it had about 2200 hours SMOH on it but need to verify.  It’s an entirely different fuel system than yours.

Great to have blue skies for 1000 miles and a solid tailwind for at least some of it!

Again forgive my ignorance with some of my questions.
I always assumed the wheels (tires) were covered by the 'clam shells' that close when the gear is retracted.  Do the wheels not also get covered when airborne?

They would be, put it's a popular mod to remove the clam shell doors, and that airplane apparently has the mod.

I've kept them on mine, because I've heard that you can get some cracking in the aft part of the nacelle, and also because I see no reason to remove them.
