Bruce,
Initially, I just wanted to rework the seats and replace the ancient carpet. But, as I considered the project with the interior shop owner, I realized that I should do more and actually get down to the skin on the inside... The soundproofing and insulation were very old and not at all effective. They even found a mouse nest somewhere in there. Plus, a few small spots of corrosion needed attention. It appears that much of the previous interior (leather, foam, siding) needed to be updated with material that passed the "fire test," etc. She is also redoing the baggage compartment with new material that is similar to what you find in the trunk of a car nowadays. Truthfully, I don't know what it will look like afterwards... laughing... but this lady in Olathe, Kansas, is really good and is constantly replacing aircraft interiors, from small GA aircraft up to larger business jets. She had already recently completed an Aerostar and a few Commanders...
I am very happy with what I have seen, so far...
