My Shrike is pretty basic. No copilot instruments. No vacuum system. No radar. No A/C. 2-servo Stec 60. Just enough radios to shoot an ILS or LPV. With a (39lb) middle seat removed, useful is 1866.
The service kit in the baggage compartment is mandatory for anything longer than a local sightseeing trip. Stepladder, windshield cleaner, couple quarts of oil, actuator wipes, couple basic tools. Thats 20 lbs.
For longer trips, a more complete toolkit with a quart of 5606, spark plugs etc adds another 20lbs.
Measured fuel capacity is 900 lbs.
First hour fuel burn 180 lbs
Cruise 130 pph.
Reserve 240 lbs (I would be comfortable with as little 150lbs, but the extra 90 is due to lack of fuel totalizer, and developing confidence in the repeatability of gauge, and tank capacity).
With the gas topped, we can take my skinny behind and another 800lbs for 4:45.
With the 6th seat installed 6 adults and bags = 1250lbs payload we can take 90 gallons of fuel. Enough for a two hour flight.
