Yep.. sorta like when Boeing would tell us (back-in-the-day) that if you can close the swing nose (747F) and not collapse the floor it will take off.

The most weight I have seen on a 695B actually stated was on a ferry permit from west coast to OZ. 695B is a muscle machine. Imagine what it could do with -14's

Interesting chart

We are finally done with maintenance and the avionics upgrade and our new useful load is 3224. Over a 200 pound increase from the avionics upgrade.

Now that I’ve flown Jonathan’s panel, I’m ruined!

My 980 useful is 3289lbs,  reinstalling the gear doors added 35lbs.  Still glad I did it.

Plane has less vibration and a little better performance.  I also like that it is back to factory original.

Just goes to show that the designers knew what they were doing to begin with.  I almost had mine removed some years back but... so glad I kept them on.  35 pounds is nothing.

My Shrike is pretty basic. No copilot instruments. No vacuum system. No radar. No A/C. 2-servo Stec 60. Just enough radios to shoot an ILS or LPV. With a (39lb) middle seat removed, useful is 1866.

The service kit in the baggage compartment is mandatory for anything longer than a local sightseeing trip. Stepladder, windshield cleaner, couple quarts of oil, actuator wipes, couple basic tools. Thats 20 lbs.

For longer trips, a more complete toolkit with a quart of 5606, spark plugs etc adds another 20lbs.

Measured fuel capacity is 900 lbs.

First hour fuel burn 180 lbs

Cruise 130 pph.

Reserve 240 lbs (I would be comfortable with as little 150lbs, but the extra 90 is due to lack of fuel totalizer, and developing confidence in the repeatability of gauge, and tank capacity).

With the gas topped, we can take my skinny behind and another 800lbs for 4:45.

With the 6th seat installed 6 adults and bags = 1250lbs payload we can take 90 gallons of fuel. Enough for a two hour flight.

My 980 got a bit lighter with the S-Tec 3100, no inverters, and the Garmin digital radar. My useful load is now 3491 pounds (to the 10,325 max takeoff weight), so empty weight of 6834. I'm pretty happy with that.

39 lb seats in the Shrike? Yowza! I weighed mine and they're 26.8 lbs each. If I take them all out I'm a rounding error away from a 2000 lb useful load.

500B, B200
