Simulator for Christmas
« on: December 26, 2022, 08:25:13 pm »
HI All,

Just wanted to share my son's update for me for Christmas.  He has been working on this for a while - he just got the G500 operational.

The simulator is a windows machine running XPlane.  It is a 690B with our "basic" avionics.  I am impressed with the touch screens for the GTN 750 and G500.  I am also impressed with the visual reality and the landing characteristics when we transition from IMC to Visual.  We have ForeFlight running on an old iPad.

It is a fun and good learning tool.

Come by any time.  DeLand, FL. KDED.

Very cool, Kent didn't realize you were in DeLand, brother and I went to Stetson U. down there.  980 made the trip a few times.

Im an old man Sir, 97-01.  :)
I can remember the airport restaurant (pub?) having amazing burgers.  Always rumors of celebrities flying in just to have one.  Not sure how true that is.

Old man?  i went to Riddle from 88 thru 92 and would occasionally drive over to Stetson to visit nice coed's roaming the campus.  Was a fun time and brings back some great memories!

I don't know if I want to hang with you youngins.  I graduated UCF in 81!  Restaurant is still open, burgers are still good.  I wouldn't know about the girls at Stetson.
