TCFG FlyIn 2019
« on: July 10, 2019, 11:52:22 pm »
We have been dragging our heels on the FlyIn due to Morris being ill and in and out of the hospital.  He is currently in the hospital following a major surgery and his healing is going a lot slower than they hoped.   So it doesn’t look like he will be able to travel to attend the FlyIn.  Also, as many of you know, Morris has always arranged the speakers due to his extensive contacts.
Our question to you is whether you still want to hold the FlyIn as more of a social get together.  The original plan was to go to New Orleans, but we are open to other ideas.    Another option would be to hold it somewhere near Stockton so we could visit Morris.
We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.  And, please keep Morris is your prayers.
Thanks,
Jim & Sue

Highly unlikely to have an aircraft this year, so I'm probably out. Hoping for next year.
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

Good evening all.  I have GREAT news!!  Gary Gadberry, The Air Center, has offered to sponsor our flyin once again!!  The flyin will be held in Chattanooga TN on October 3-6.  Gary has some amazing, once in a lifetime speakers for us including two pilots from the Blue Angles, one flew the C130 "Fat Albert" he also has an Aviation attorney, from the oldest aviation law firm in existence!!  Others as well, you'll just need to show up to find out.  Gary really knows how to do this right, so DON'T MISS OUT!!!  There will be posts on lodging etc to follow in the next few day, stay tuned!!!

I'm out of town Mon-Wed that week and have airshow to go to on the 5th-6th, but thinking if you guys don't mind a Beech 18 flying in that I might come up for the day on the 4th.

Well, having more problems with left engine so no, at the moment I am building a new hanger so that I can get it back inside and then planning to fix gear box and get her going again.  I’m going to start a new thread on a question about it because I really would like to keep it but something has to give with these engines.

So is the meeting itself at the main Chattanooga airport or one of the surrounding airports?  Also, are the meetings at the airport or the hotel?

I'm trying to work it out where we can stop by Thursday afternoon just to say hello but need to know where everyone will be.  I'm not 100% I'll be able to pull it off but was going to try.  We'd love to see everyone if we can work it out.

This was my first TCFG FlyIn.  Although it marked the loss of Morris, I still got a strong sense of the camaraderie and affection between and among the members.  You all made Diane and me feel welcome, which we really appreciated.

A big THANK YOU goes to Gary, Jim & Sue, and all who made the gathering a success.  We look forward to more such gatherings.
