690B Gear Up in Venezuela
« on: September 16, 2019, 02:21:12 pm »
Did anyone else see the video of the 690B landing gear up in Venezuela?

Looks like the gear was partially extended, and both props were feathered. Nice job by the crew.

I've had a nose gear hang up (in a 1000), but never had an issue with the main gear extending. If the struts are over-serviced, I've had them not fully retract.

I believe that's a fairly straightforward repair... hopefully someone repairs it and gets it flying again. In the US, I would think it would happen, but in Venezuela? Not sure.

Here is a link to it on FaceBook...

You can search for the "Twin Commander Flyers" group and it's on there. I don't know if there is any other way to show it, unfortunately.

I wish some of those guys would join here!

Umm camera ports everywhere... Seriously doubt repairs will be done with current state the economy is in there unless the owner has USD and a way around the embargo for importing good from USA... Total bummer for sure

Is the Service Center in Caracas still going?

I would think there are a fair number of parts airplanes down there, so parts may not be much of an issue.
