Thanks Barry. We all miss Geoffrey Pence on these archives.

Was it 96062 that actually flew with -12’s? I can’t recall.

Did they actually fly with -12s?

The story I was told was that they flew with -10s, but modified the temp limit to simulate the performance of the -12 at altitude. Obviously that shortened the hot section life a lot, but they could verify the performance.

Thanks Barry. We all miss Geoffrey Pence on these archives.

96100, when the factory paperwork was raised, did not have a Distributor assigned, so presumably was built without an order being received, which is unusual.
That remained the case until April 2, 1985 when it became a factory-direct sale, to customers Robert T & William J Healy.
Was actually sold on July 16, 1985, to Air Charter Services Inc., of New Gretna, New Jersey.

I am not aware though of any Model designation that was scheduled for the proposed 1200.

Barry, do you know much about the "fire sale" where the factory was selling Commanders at a tremendous discount, and as I was told, many were parked in a field next to the factory.

I remember full page ads in Trade-A-Plane back in that era-- probably 1984 or so.
