Don, I notice there is a backup "ball" yaw indicator on the right of the G600.
Never seen that before, but its a great idea.

With no traditional turn and bank, coordinated flight is pure feel when the big screen goes out.
And it does go out--I lost an AHARS unit--and it takes down the electronic indication.

I may ask the around and see if the avionics guys can get me one of those.

The little ball thing was not expensive at all. They originally wanted me to keep the turn coordinator, and I asked if we could just put in a ball, and sure enough we could!

The G5 has a ball in it as well, so I've now got lots of redundancy on that!

I have GI-275s in my 182. Adding them to my panel overhaul in the 1000. I really like them vs the G5. I have owned/flown both.

The 275 is really nice. I figured that the G5 would do the job, and is much cheaper, so that's why I went the way I did. And really, I'm quite happy with the G5. I have no issues at all with the G5 standby gyro, and my one issue with the G5 as the copilot HSI is that it would be much easier to use if it had a second knob. Less pressing, scrolling, pressing, dialing...
