980 in Flight Levels
« on: December 03, 2020, 08:45:48 pm »
I don't know if this is old, but it popped up in my Facebook feed:

https://flightlevelsonline.com/2020-2/looking-back-model-695-jetprop-980/?fbclid=IwAR1cmKwBZ6cfYOZHxfPH1eqGluRBv7Col5Hfqt4YQVajXLtZDid4df9h2nk

Nice little article by Barry.

Anyway, my question is, wasn't there one additional 980 which has an 840 serial number, but was built as a 980 at the factory (they switched it over on the production line)?

Really great stuff, thanks for always sharing DonV.
Will let one of the smarter folk here answer your question regarding the construction numbers.

Certainly we all know the paint scheme of the one record breaker, but these are them:

That is cool. I never realized that the one with the crazy paint was also the record-breaker. I assume it didn't have that paint in the 1980s.
