New to market 840-10
« on: March 08, 2021, 11:09:15 pm »
https://www.controller.com/listing/for-sale/202215019/1979-commander-840-turboprop-aircraft

It’s priced at 1,090,000.

It looks like there isn’t much movement in the commander market north of a million dollars. I’m guessing buyers compare these aircraft to the Ultra/ Encores that start around a million.

I know the operational costs are more in the jets, but they also go 125 knots faster.

The 840 listed above still has steam gauges. But looks very nice otherwise. I thought it would have been worth about 900k.

Thoughts?

I kind of agree with you.  I would just make an offer based on what you think it is worth.

I fly an 81 840-10.

Eagle Creek have always seemed to appraise their commissions rather high, if you ask me. But they're good at what they do and their valuations protect the values of the fleet.
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

Hope the inspections are clean and like a new car you get a top off on full fuel at delivery in the deal.

It will be a great ride... enjoy it

Congratulations Eric! That is a great plane. I went through it for the previous owner, designed the paint and interior and basic panel and sold it to the current owner. Great choice.

I do have a similar plane off market for those looking for the next available long range, G600  -10 powered 840!  I’m not sure it will even make it to the market ...

How are you finding the Commander market these days, Bruce? Not many on Controller these days, other than a bunch in Venezuela...

It’s good Don.  I am selling many of them off market so the controller isn’t what it once was.  Their new interface is kind of clunky too.

If one were interested in an 85 1000 with low time, super low time engines, G600TXi, 750, APS 65? We can buy it now for $1.450.

The long range G600 840 -10 I’ll try to post up or just call me. Priced for a quick sale!

Is the 1000 a 695B? If so, that seems like a great deal.

I'm sticking with my little 980... I can almost afford it, so best not to get too over my skis.

Looks like the 1000 is sold but the -10 840 is available.  I have data to send some folks I’m working with but it’s nice and has the right stuff.

Thanks. I just put it up yesterday. Controller is unfortunate but still most popular.

Nice plane with the right stuff and a careful owner. Almost impossible to find these days.  Paying up a bit for low engine time and a completely rewired and properly done panel ready for a 750 update is great value imho.
