More Vintage Photos
« on: March 13, 2021, 07:44:59 pm »
Lots of new photos to come...

I actually flew this airplane once, back around 1988. I believe it was a 500B, at least that is what I put in my logbook at the time.

What was the deal with this pinstripe 690B? It was clearly at a sales event, I'm wondering if it was painted that way at the factory?

It was “the business suit.”

Was that a real thing, or are you joking? Because my friend who sent me the picture described it the same way, and I thought he was joking also.

A friend of mine flew this 680FL (P?) for a few years, before they upgraded to a Jet Commander. He said going from the Grand Commander to the Jet Commander was an unbelievable transition-- the performance difference was simply mind-blowing.

That is awesome! And no joke. It’s actually aged well  - still looks cool, way better than the clothes of the era!

Amazing find Don!   Bruce any of your family in that pic?  Will show my father if so.

Nope, no family members in that pic. I can identify Bert and Swede... @PapaPhil could probably name everyone in that picture. I believe I could name one or two of the ladies, but not with confidence.

Swede, as usual, is the most dapper person in that picture. And that was just how he normally dressed!

A 900, maybe at the factory? Definitely new, or almost new.

A lot of Commanders getting ready to go in the morning... early 1980s, I'm thinking.

Why she sit so low? MLG's sagging?
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

I think the nose strut is a bit high. It will drop down as soon as someone hops into the pilot seat.
