‘Scissor bracket’ on gear installed upside down?
« on: July 11, 2021, 09:37:50 am »
Question for the Forum…. I’m a newbie 520 owner participating in my first annual with N11L and in the process of greasing the main gear mechanisms found that the on the pilot’s side ‘scissor bracket’ ( not sure if this is the correct name… my manual is back at the hanger) has the zerk grease fittings all facing down and on the copilot’s side the zerks are all facing up. Is this asymmetry wrong… if so, which way is correct?
TIA
Daryl

I can't remember how it was on mine, Daryl. But let's just say the factory weren't super-precise always. On my 680V the right pitot tube has the drain hole on the top from factory.... :o
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

That is so you have a good airspeed indicator for those inverted ILS approaches 😏

I’ll just flip the pilots side- cuz the zerks are easier to access… thanks for the replies!
