Interesting Paint on an 840

Well... this is certainly different!

King KFC-300 autopilot and flight director still there as well. You don't see many of those in Commanders, not really sure why. I think they were more expensive than the Collins setup when new or something? I remember hearing back in the day that the KFC-300 was a better setup, yet I don't know that I've ever flown a Commander with one.

It does seem like there are some different serial numbers on the market than the usual suspects, which is probably good.

I donít have the kind of experience you guys have, but I always remember hearing that kfc autopilots and bendix fuel controllers were to be avoided.

On the subject of interesting airplanes on the market, I thought I saw an 840 or 900 advertised yesterday with SRL.

I believe there were a couple which were converted that way, before the -10T. There is also an 840 which was fully converted to 980 specs, although it still wears it's 840 serial number. I think that airplane may have been done at the factory before delivery.

Whenever the 840/980 I mentioned is advertised, it's advertised as a 980. Only the serial number gives it away.

Love it!

Would be a disaster here in SoCal in the summers, but fun to see someone doing something different!
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

I'd love to know what the story is behind that paint. There must be a story of some kind.

Sorry but IMO the outside of that airplane was heavily beaten with an ugly stick. I also wonder if that 2 piece divan is actually an approved mod ?

I think the 2-place divan might have been a factory option.

Was N940AC Don, we discussed that awhile ago on a different thread.  Always sold as a 695/980 but CN isn't 95xxx.

Iíve seen it up close and it is of quality you might expect straight out of Mena. Unreal.
