Any reason not to buy this engine?

Hi all,

I've decided to buy a 3rd engine for my 500B. The asking price is about 1/2 the price of a core from a major engine rebuilder. Accessories are included.

Is there any reason you wouldn't buy the left engine off this plane? It hasn't been torn down yet, but the crankshaft runout is 0.001" (Max limit is 0.002 for new, 0.005" for in service)

Second, if I did buy it - does anyone have recommendations on the shop to do the teardown inspection that's required by AD?

I assume you’re planning to mount it on the vertical stab ala trislander?

How about in the baggage compt and using it to supercharge the cabin and the wing engines?

Central Cylinder Service and/or Certified Engine. Those are top end places.

I like the Trislander idea.

Seriously - I don't want to lose the plane for 6+ months during an overhaul. My RH engine needs an overhaul - I'm going to hang this one on the plane and OH the right one.
