Air Blower in 680FP
« on: October 21, 2015, 09:58:00 am »
I've got conflicting stories about my blower unit in my 680FP and wondering if anyone knows anything about it or how I might test it to see if its working.  It blows cool air out for the first 3 or 4 minutes and then turns warm after that.  So I suspect its sorta working and I'd like to get it 100% before spending money on an air conditioner if I don't need it.

Thanks,

Glenn

Can you explain how the system works? Is this an air cycle machine, where it cools the air by expanding it?

I'm not really sure about the exact process the air goes through.  Still trying to learn all of that.

Have a look at the Unit.  Is it a Sundstrand?

You might give Geoff Pence at Twin Commander a call. I'm sure he could explain it, and if he doesn't know off the top of his head he has all the documentation he needs to find out.

Thanks,  will give that a try.  I don't have the plane or the service manuals atm so no idea what it is. Morris said he had some manuals he'd send me but he's so busy and I don't like bothering him if I don't have to.
