In regard to the overspeed governor, the language in the AFM is "CHECK prior to first flight of day, when in flight engine shutdowns and air starts are to be accomplished, or any maintenance or adjustment has been performed."
If you read the Honeywell 331 pilot tips, it says the exact same thing EXCEPT there is no comma after "first flight of day" which changes the meaning entirely to read "first flight of day when in flight engine shutdowns and air starts are to be accomplished."
It's the old thing-- "the bear eats, shoots, and leaves" versus "the bear eats shoots and leaves" but apparently no one at Twin Commander read The Elements of Style.
