Amazing! You're getting one of the best 980's out there!

Very cool, from one great owner to the next, safe flying!

Flightaware has a good shot of her...

I like the photos on flightaware (seems mostly taken by ground crew), but I wonder who chooses the aircraft type as I see a lot of AC90's listed as AC95 and reversed :)

I'm pretty sure the photographer puts in the aircraft type, so if they get it wrong, well, not much anyone can do about it.

I always file AC95 because that’s a -10 performance profile

It's funny, I see -10 840s filed as AC95 and 980s filed as AC90. I think Bruce makes a fair point, though.

Technically, isn't a 900 supposed to be filed as an AC90?

Ok Don, I know you just turned 29 but do you recall what they were before AC90, 95, 50, etc? Wasn’t a AC6T a turbo commander?

When I looked at it last, I somehow concluded the only purpose of 90 vs 95 was to advise performance difference so I chose to upgrade a -10 plane.  I suspect it makes no difference to  ontrollers these days.

AC6T goes way back... I think that was a 680T or 680V or something. As I recall, a 690 was "AC69" or something like that, and that was pretty much used for everything from 690 on?

Jet Commander was AC21, that I remember.

When did they change all the designations? Mid-1990s, maybe?

Mine is an AC80. You can also file it as AC68.

AC80 is right for you, Adam. AC68 is for short body piston 680s-- the 680E and 680F, for instance.

AC6L is for long body 680s.

AC90 is clearly for 690 series, including 690A/B and 840/900.

Incidentally, I find it interesting that the FAA still includes JCOM for Jet Commander.

AC69, I mean how could I have forgotten that?

I don’t know when they did it but I do recall continuing to use the old one until I couldn’t stand to hear any more questions I.e. they forced me. Maybe early 90’s?

JCOM is great. I propose “TCOM” or “PCOM” or, for jet prop we could go with  “JETP”
