Straight 500

Hey,
   Has anyone flown a Straight 500 commanders? The one with the direct drive O-540s with the bathtub nacelles? Just wondering what's the performance on those instead of the 500A or 500B

I have only flown 500Bs and subsequent. I would guess the performance on the straight 500 would be a bit worse (there is a reason they streamlined the nacelles), but I don't know if that is very important.

Also, don't the straight 500s have a bit less horsepower?

Yeah, it has 250hp O-540s.  Its lighter than the 500B though, about 450 lbs lighter.
