What determines whether or not the STEC can be controlled from a Garmin PFD is the box in between. A GAD 43e does what you want, a GAD 43 will come up short.

Thanks-- it will be interesting to see what the deal is with the 3100. I don't know if the 3100 can talk directly to the G600 or not, but I will find out!

So far I really do like the S-Tec 2100, no complaints. It sure would great to get those controls from the G600 to drive the autopilot but not sure that it would be worth the cost to upgrade.

If you upgrade your GAD unit to a 43e, I'm pretty sure you can get the 600 to drive everything the 2100 has to offer.

I inquired, and apparently the 3100 can talk directly with the G-600, and does not need the GAD-43.
