Woodward vs Bendix?

What's the ultimate word - which one is most reliable anew which one is cheapest to maintain or overhaul?
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

Woodward.

Essentially Woodward made the city of Rochester, NY and they owe thier sucess to Woodward.  They invented the hydraulic governor design as well as the fuel servo and have used it for fuel systems, hydraulic systems, Propellers for Aviation, Marine and Ground based equipment since WWII.

Ive seen the most complicated "Swiss Watch" style governors for fuel systems and they are by far the Heart  and Soul of aviation.

Now, Bendix comes along.  Some patents run out, the concept of miniature, flyball governors goes viral and now Bendix is the next best thing.

so.   Woodward has the history, provenance, experience and wherewithal;  been making them since time began.  Bendix is a competitor and makes them just as good, but less expensive.

If I had the dough and wanted one to last...  I'd go Woodward.

If Im running an MRO business or aviation department,  Id to Bendix.  you choose.  :)

I've always heard Woodward on both of those counts, but I suppose someone with more experience than I have can chime in. Operationally, I don't really have a favorite, aside from the fact that I hear that parts and quality overhauls for the Bendix are hard to find-- but that's not first hand.

/offtopic...

*cough* KODAK *cough*
In 1980, Kodak employed over 60,000 people in Rochester. Employment was about 120,000 worldwide. The population of Rochester was a hair over 240,000. I can't think of another city that size that was so dependent on one employer.
