Straight 690 for sale in Germany for $95K..
« on: April 29, 2016, 03:25:19 pm »
The straight 690's are getting rather rare these days. They're a hybrid between the 681 and the 690A, in ways. Long wing, but still has the plexi alcohol windscreen (cheaper) and lower cabin diff. Engines are very close to TBO, so one would have to operate it part 91, or find some better used ones and hang on eventually. But could be a good entry plane into turbine world, for the curious buyer. I wish I'd seen this ad 2 years ago.

Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

Another camera airplane!

Generally, though, nothing wrong with a good straight 690. The 4.2psi pressurization is less of a drawback than it might seem at first glance, because most 690A/Bs don't pressurize to the full 5.2 unless all the leaks are sealed anyway.

Exactly, not bad at all those 690's. Climb performance, with the -5's and the light weight should also be rather spectacular. Wish I had some cash laying around..

What do you think converting back to normal and sealing up camera hole and putting interior back in would cost? I'm guessing $20K. Sound about right?
