Aero Air selling batch of 690's
« on: February 09, 2017, 09:57:17 am »
Service center and operator AeroAir in Oregon are selling out 4 of their 690's. All look to be in good shape, and I know the gold tailed ones have fantastic interiors and great panels. N71AA used to be their demo plane. Don't know if they're upgrading to newer or what, but these planes could be a good fit for the right buyer. Don't think I haven't thought about it! The way Jetprop prices are going, part of me is just thinking of getting a 690A/B, outfitting it with drop tanks and be happy. Gives you almost same utility as the Jetprops, but at half the cost.

Only one of them has a permanent spar, so that will be a recurring cost every 36months unless you pony up for the mod. They're all also pushing 10000hrs TTAF, which will freak out a few buyers.
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

I have time in all those airplanes. The good news is that they've all been well maintained and taken care of over the years.

They were mostly on air ambulance contracts, and are being replaced by PC-12s.

They are putting back the passenger interiors, so they are in pretty good shape (or even more or less new). I think they all have G600s and 530/430 avionics.

Adam, I think a 690A or B would work fine for you. I don't think the slipper tanks get you as much as you imagine, and I don't think there are many places in the world that you might go where you would need them. Certainly Europe is do-able without them.

I'm thinking about it....:)

Actually, N71AA would be a really good fit for me, or even the one with the -5's. I could do the permanent spar down the road. Doesn't seem like it needs much else.

Something that does not need much work would work best for Adam

I've been thinking hard about a turbine and getting rid of mine.  Will probably be in good place to start looking by end of year.

It is possible.  If you ever get her flying for goodness sake. :-)

However, I watched a youtube video of me taking off from 7 lakes last summer and there really is nothing like those supercharged engines winding up for takeoff.

Lest we not forget the ear piercing whine of the turbines spooling up for that oh so powerful departure....
You would look good in Adam's and right now you would have pretty much your choice of panel and interior... not to mention new paint as well.....

Oh, I know.  That is cool too.  Wouldn't be complaining about the 50 knots faster speed either.
