Redmond to kVNY

Flew to van Nuys today

Came down to LA for vacation and to finish up my IFR training.

What a great trip and an excellent annual experience to boot!

Found a great piston commander mechanic in Redmond that performed a great annual and added some much needed additions to my plane.

I added flap gap seals and removed my bubble observation window to streamline the old bird.

Wow what a difference!
8 knots increase in speed.  And fuel economy is up too!
I flew from RDM to Modesto on 65 gallons.  10,500 feet 20mp 2200 rpm 415 miles cruising at 175 kts.

Can't go wrong with that !

Love my commander :)

Beats driving any old day

Oh and from Modesto to Van Nuys.
Squadron of 12 f-18s flew right under me.

Clearly the acrobatic version of the Commander... as even inverted it is awesome looking. 8)  Seriously... it is a beautiful example of a great airplane
