Mr RPM 800 Conversion
« on: August 14, 2017, 11:21:25 am »
Newbie here to the forums.
I've owned Commanders in the 90's and I'm considering purchasing either a 500 or 680 with the Mr. Rpm IO-720 conversion.
Anyone have experience with these. What do I need to look for at inspection?
General comments.

Thanks in advance

Welcome and hope you find a good one.  No experience with them here, just wanted to welcome you.

I flew the 680 with the 720s many years ago.  The biggest difference was fuel flow.  The 720s burned about 10gph less than the 540s.

I felt the 720s were kind of short on power.  Seemed like it just did not have enough prop on it.

Simpler engine and probably less MX on the 720s but I would stick with the IGSO540s.

Geared engines are very strong performers.
