Jekyll Island
« on: August 14, 2017, 05:54:09 pm »
We finally got to go on a short trip over the weekend.  We headed down to Jekyll island as we've never been there before.  It was hot and humid but the pool and ocean took care of that for the most part.  Stayed at new hotel on the beach and had a blast.  Nothing like flying!!!

Strip there was a 3500' paved strip and parking isn't make for large aircraft.  Luckily one of the guys there came over and helped me push back a few feet so I wasn't in anyones way.  Got parked under a huge tree for shade :-)

Anyway, the plane few awesome and everything worked. I believe the pressurization shut off valve is not opening all the way and going to a look at that tonight if I get time.  Other than that though it performed awesome!

Here are a few pictures and the link to the gallery if anyone wants to see more.

Excellent! Glad to see you up and flying the 680.

The resort looks nice.

I did a quick PilotNPaws run on Sunday in the 680. There was a need for transport and a need for me to fly...San Antonio is not a bad destination. Pilot and passengers, including furry ones, enjoyed the hop and adequate BBQ was consumed to verify our arrival.

That woman holding up the tree is welcome at the ranch anytime as I have a passel of trees to take down.  8)

Looks nice, Glenn! What's with the right oil temp gauge?
Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

lol, yeah, if only she was that strong :-)

Adam, the probe broke off and haven't fixed it yet.   I never use that one anyway and keep forgetting about it. (and yes I know it needs to be fixed :-) . Just have so many more important items that it keeps getting forgotten.

That pressurization gauge is pretty interesting. So if I'm reading it right, you were getting differential-- that's pretty good.

If I'm reading it right (as I've never had it work since I owned the plane) each of those marks is 1/2 PSI which means I'm getting a wopping 1psi.  At least it is working and not overheating but I don't think I'm getting full pressure from the shutoff valve.  I plan to work on that tonight if I can to see if I can get more flow.  Hopefully that is all it is.

That actually makes more sense. I thought each mark was 1 psi, and I was thinking that for 2psi, you should have had a bit lower cabin.

I found a chart on the internet showing various cabin altitudes depending on the PSI, and it does look like you are getting about 1psi. What's your maximum differential?
