Great 1000 (695B)

A friend of mine used to own this 1000... in fact, he did all the avionics upgrades:

It's a great airplane, and it's hard to overstate how wonderful these really late 695Bs are. As nice as a regular 1000 is, these are even better. The upgraded weights, in particular, can really come in handy. Basically, you can top this airplane off and never worry about being over gross... and full tanks will take you a long way.

I was telling my brother, I really don't understand why they aren't still building them-- they are way better than any of the turbine singles on the market-- either Pilatus or TBM. I can understand why you might buy a Pilatus over a 1000, actually, if you need the room and go relatively short distances, but otherwise the Commander is pretty hard to beat.

One reason NOT to buy a Pilatus or TBM over a Commander,  they are missing an engine!

A single failure of any critical system becomes an emergency instead of an inconvenience.

It just seems crazy that it goes faster on less fuel than the Pilatus (and comparable to the TBM), and if you could get it on the 3500 hot/7000 hour TBO, the two engines would cost less per hour to overhaul and maintain than the single PT6!

It appears to have sold very quickly, not surprising given the quality and what it is.
