Did 560Fs always have flat nacelles, or is that part of the MR RPM mod?

I'm not thinking so but I do know the MR RPM gets you new Nacelles with the new engines.

Hello Donv,

Yes - the Model 560F always had 'slimline' nacelles.

Cheers!

Thanks for the clarification Russell.  I can't wait until the day I can tell all the models apart. :-)

The 560F is the low level hotrod of the 560-series. Has fantastic range at 1500nm, but can also takeoff really short - think it has the shortest takeoff after the 520 series. I really wanted one after my 520, but at that time none were available, so I went to the Aerostar. The IGO-540's are unique to it, that would be my only concern.

So, from what I understand, the 560F was the mid-range Commander of era. So a new 1964 buyer could have chosen from a 500B, a 560F, or a 680F (in ascending order of price), depending on how much he or she wanted to spend, and how much capability they wanted.

Hey the reserve is only $175k!  This plane has been floating around for a few years but I know nothing of the care and feeding which is where all the value is.  With 720's it's a "Super Shrike Lite."  Could be a fun one.

Adam - you are starting to think like me since you have taken on your turbine project!   ;)

It looked like someone put some money into it 10-15 years ago.  If it were kept up current with a decent panel install, good radar,

Ha!  ;)

Although it's clear that twin prices are creeping up, and the 500B market has always been very strong, this is basically a 680F without superchargers. No 680 should be much over $100K, no matter what condition they're in. Because with geared engines, you're looking at double the O/H costs of a IO-540 and a 500B. That has to come from somewhere and the place it comes from is on purchase price. Maybe a little extra legroom for the IO-720, but they're no huge draw in themselves as they cost about as much as geared engines to keep running. This is in my opinion a $75-125K plane, max.

I agree and would throw in that I'd rather have the geared engines from everything I've learned.
