Sun River Oregon
« on: October 31, 2015, 02:54:52 pm »
Another great destination for an overnight, or even just for lunch, is Sun River, Oregon. It's in the Bend/Redmond area, and has spectacular scenery. The airport is on the resort, and they will come get you (or it's a reasonably nice walk).

There are several nice restaurants, a nice lodge, great bike trails, lots of stuff to do.

This section is starting to become my favorite.  I hope to take the Commander to everywhere I can afford to land her and this looks like a fun spot.

You can't win an argument with an ignorant person,  they'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Mine are mostly West Coast, since that's where I live. I'll keep posting them...

Our place is starting to fill up for the summer of 2016.
Our website has a link to vrbo and has the calendar of available dates.
Commanders won't fit in our hanger over there but we do have an extra car.

Spring and fall is my favorite time of year there.

I've been in Sunriver the last few days-- it's great to be in the sun while it's pouring rain in Portland, only 35 minutes away by Commander!

The skiing hasn't been the best-- windy and not great snow, but walking around Sunriver itself has been very pleasant. And we were down at the Old Mill District in Bend-- that's really something!

My daughter just qualified (we think) for the state high school ski race in Bend, in a few weeks. Hopefully it will still be good then!

Unfortunately, I can't come with her (other than possibly picking her up in the Commander).
