Don- perhaps you remember, I believe the factory provided the original owner a small (I think wooden) model of your plane at purchase.
Does anyone know if these still exist or are available anywhere?  Ours broke a wing (was too fun to play with as a kid).

Unfortunately, there's not much help on where to get them now. Someone suggested eBay.

It's kind of incredible that my model survived so long! My brother had it on his office shelf for the last 20 or so years, but even then...

If you find a source, please post. I'd be tempted to get one done of my 980, but I'm not in love with the present paint scheme, and expect to paint it in the next 4-5 years.

We got this online, but the dimensions are all wrong.  I remember the original from the factory was accurate.

Long term ownership- wondering if anyone else has had their Commander for a long period of time (aks since new)?
I thought someone had mentioned the 980 in Germany was bought new (D-IHSI)?

Nada on this one huh?  Assumed maybe there was some original owner out there in the world... but then again we are looking at 40 years since new!

The longest ownership I know is Montana Department of Highways, with their 680V, N4622E, owned since new.

There is also a 680F(p) owned by the original family since new, but I don't know if that counts.

Barry Collman would know the answer.

And AeroAir takes care of it, right?

Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

I think Aero Air does the big stuff and they do their own 150 hour inspections and that sort of thing.

Some nice discussion about your airplane on Facebook, Steve! The former Downtown guy was talking about the FBI's camera holes.

I don’t use Facebook, but my plane does have a camera hole.  The hole in mine is almost unnoticeable.  Unlike others that appear to be a box stuck on the underside of the plane, the camera hole in my airplane is the shape of the fuselage.

Who is the downtown guy?
