OK, maybe ease up on the back pressure until she's actually ready to fly?

Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

A good friend of mine used to take off that way. I don't really know why he did it-- I'll have to ask him about it.

I generally wait until red line and then rotate, and she comes off pretty cleanly.

If you have a engine failure, tire failure or a prop problem you will want to have the nose gear on the ground.

That?s the craziest Take off I have seen in a Commander.

Well, there?s only a few hundred pounds on the nose gear sitting flat on the ground so soft field takeoff practice is easy and fun ...  :D

Is there a tire speed for the Commander.  His roll looked so long I thought he was way above 95kts.

Soft fields are a different story.  They are fun and impressive.   Not much grip if something happens anyway..

Hmmm, good question, I suspect there is a tire speed somewhere but with a 93 knot liftoff speed in the 1000, I haven?t heard it discussed. Some of the planes spec a 101 knot ?nose wheel off the ground? speed but should vary with weight etc - time for me to revisit the neglected old flight manual  :D

Btw - I just flew in that machine last week.  Great plane and operator.

The AFM, at least for the 1000 and 1000B (the only ones I have at home) does not specify a maximum tire speed, at least that I could find.

However, the tires themselves probably have a maximum speed. A quick Google search finds this:

https://www.goodyearaviation.com/resources/pdf/databook_4_2015.pdf

I can't remember which tires I have, but I'm sure they're in there somewhere.
