S/n 95015, a 1979 695. Low time, but has been sitting outside for over 10 years. First bid is $105K.

Where do you get that it's 95015?

95015 is currently registered as PR-DRY, and if you google it you can see pictures of it-- and it looks nothing like this airplane. Furthermore, 95015 was exported in 2011, and this one claims to have last flown in 2009.

One of the logbook entries pictured mentions something about the engine being installed on 95015, and that might well have happened, but I don't think that was this airplane.

Because I like a challenge, I'm guessing this airplane is 95019.

Still sad, but at least it has logbooks! The engines are probably worth something, as cores... worth more than the Sad 980, I would guess.

Yeah, I saw 95015 in one of the logs, but it was prob a reference to the engine or something. You're right, Don - it's 95019. Here's historian Barry Collman:

From the link you sent, the Commander isn?t s/n 95015.
95015 is in Brazil, as PR-DRY, formerly N695WR.
 
The one from the link is s/n 95019.
Formerly N9772S, Certificated June 27,1980, it was sold in Indonesia as PK-ODR in April 1982.
By February 1983, it was with the ?Angkatan Darat? (Indonesian Army), with military serial A-2022.

Well....It does not look like a 980. It looks more like a 690A or B or perhaps a 840. But most definitely it is NOT a 980. The windows on that aircraft include a panoramic window in the back that 980's do not have, as they go with smaller windows in order to increase ceiling of aircraft.

Good luck anyway.........but you can find various 690's at same pricing around here.

Popeye, you're confusing the 980 with the 900 or 1000. 980s have the picture window, just like an 840.

You can tell from the instrument panel picture that this is, indeed, a 980, because of the orange start override buttons at the top of the panel. Only aircraft from the factory with Dash 10s (980 and 1000) have those buttons.

I don't know of an easy external way to tell the difference between an 840 and a 980 (other than if it has "980" written on the winglets)-- the polished exhaust used to be one way, but I think most Dash 10 conversions have that now. Even some Dash 5s.

Didn't know many had the forward facing seats in the back...  Gotta be the original factory interior?  Fabric direct from 1980!

Just happened to come across it when I searched for new Commander videos on YouTube.. 8)

Steve - auction house just emailed me with a lower starting bid, indicating they still think it's for sale. What's the latest news on this airframe?

Adam - my firsthand understanding is they don?t have it to sell, the Bill of sale is already in the US, and I?m sending parts to reseal this and that.  Now if you want to buy it and deal with the mess, that can certainly be arranged! It only took about 6 months to get on out of Arizona, this should be interesting.
