Here is a flight I just did, KCMA to KSUS. Camarillo California to St. Louis Missouri.

Flight aware shows 1632 miles in 5.3hrs.  I thought it was more like 1500nm either way it was 5.3 and I landed with 800lbs of fuel.  That is an easy 1.5 hrs of fuel down low.  The bitch of it was I had a headwind on a eastbound flight, everaged about 15kts of head wind.

Show me a little jet that can do that!  Love the 980!

Slumming it in the turboprop world - so you don't have to.

I never noticed the pic on flight aware.  It does need some updating.

Here is a instrument pic of the return flight St. Louis to California.

It was ISA +17 at FL280  so my TAS was low just 290kts but I was heavy with fuel and it slowly got up into the mid 290s as I lightened up.

The advantage of the high ISA was my FF was low just 400lbs/hr or roughly 60gph. Made it in the same time 5.3 and had 800lbs on the ground.

What other TP except maybe a Conquest can do that, and the conquest has the SIDS inspections and has a reputation of being a little lightly built.

The MU-2 with its small wing struggles in ISA + temps.  The long body MU-2 would be stuck at F180 burning 85gph and the short one would be slowed by a high AOA causing lots of drag if it went to FL280.. all things being equal.   The Commander even in these condition flies incredible flat.

I was able to straight to FL280 even being heavy and hot.

I don’t know why my photos come out weird but you can move the picture around with your finger.  It looks like I you are viewing through a telescope, really magnified.

I didn't know you could make the G600 display temperature in ISA+ format! I will have to try to make mine do that.

Damnit. I should have patented the angle mount!  Often imitated,
Rarely duplicated  ;D

I admit I stole that from you. I looked at some pictures and asked if they can angle it like that. It makes a big difference because you can mount the G600 higher in the panel, which just makes everything easier.

I figured out how to make it display the temperature in ISA. That's pretty nice. I was seeing ISA+16 at FL280 this morning over Colorado, and my fuel flows were actually down in that area as well.

Don - You were pre-approved for a demo copy of the CAD drawing, but I didn’t know where to send it  ;)
