Lowest Time Jetprop?
« on: July 17, 2023, 02:32:46 pm »
I see someone on Facebook claiming that their 1000, N695HT, is the lowest time "Commander in the fleet" with 4400 hours.

I'm pretty darn sure that is not the case, since if I remember correctly, there was one discussed here a few years back with around 2500 hours?

My 980 only has about 4500 hours, and I don't think it is even the lowest time 980... what do you all think?

Great Question DonV- I'm wondering if they are only referencing the commanders that are currently for sale when saying 'fleet'?
I'll tell you its not an accurate statement-  N51DM was slightly over 2000hrs when I last checked, and Im guessing barely at 3000hrs since new now.

N51DM is the one I was thinking of. I wonder how many hours it has now?

Randomly check flightaware to see how many jetprops are in the air (AC95 or AC90), always happy to see a handful out there.
N94EA- this morning looks like it did a quick U-turn when getting near that monster storm, attached.

DonV, you see the price on that 1000?  First time i've seen a Commander at or over $2 mil!

I hope he gets his price!

My 980 is at 4628.8 after my flight yesterday, so his at 4596 is low, but unlikely to be the lowest. I would be surprised if the N51DM isn't lower time.

That said, it looks like a great airplane, nice equipment, decent US-based history, that is all good.

However, I would point out that the engines are quite high time-- only 800 hours to overhaul. Depending on when the last hot sections were due, you might be able to run it a few hundred hours over (I'm currently planning to do that), but that's not a good look for a very expensive asking price.

And it is not even a 695B

Serious asking price for sure

I think the 695B in South Africa is asking something like $2 million... but I believe it is a one owner airplane (bought new by Eskom, the South African power company) and has lower engine times.

I spoke with their chief pilot back when they first put it up for sale. I think he said that they had 4 of them at one time and that this was the last one.
Depending on which nations "dollars" your looking at he thought it would sell under 2m USD and that Eskom had taken care of it really well.

I think if you were in the market for a 1000, the Eskom airplane would be the one to get. And bringing it home would be quite the fun trip!

96063 has to be well over 20,000 hours by now... I'm sure there are others higher?

Don't see any 980's on controller anymore, believe there were x2, Steve's and 980GR?  Any insight on final sale price anyone (if they did in fact sell)?
