Yes, I understand the company has sold off the business units requiring a real traveling plane.  They’ve operated this one since 1996. It’s a great bird and ready for the panel update which can be completed directly.

How many Commanders did JW have at their peak?

Without getting into too much personal detail, who was JW?  Why Commanders?

As I understood it, at one time the Walmart family was one of the largest owners.  Assuming now it would be a fire fighting outfit.

When they had thousands of employees in the natural gas and energy business, they had 6 I think plus some other planes. Great company.  They had Commanders because they are the best  ;)

I have an 840 owner right now who wanted to sell after they bought a CJ3 but, of course, are struggling with selling because nothing beats the combo of ride, speed, performance, etc. What stuck out was his comment that every single person who rides in the TBM 850 they also lease would rather be in the Commander.

And that’s where I sit, I can’t find anything better so as long as we can effectively keep them flying, I am committed to the support of the planes. Unlike some other providers, however, I am also flying them, investing in them, and improving them and working hard on Twin and other vendors on necessary parts. Right now we have spent quite a bit of time and effort making sure RVSM for the G600txi planes is economical and the Meggitt planes have Garmin EIS to replace the old digital EIDS.  Very exciting stuff.  If you’re reading this and are interested in more information, please give me a call: 309-397-2525

So with JW, I believe we can make a deal including a new panel that makes sense and is solid value. Of course Barry will be there to train and pass the knowledge on to the new owner.

Barry told me my 840 was owned by them so that’s two of the six. What I find amazing is how many interiors were done in the 2000’s and the patterns in the seats pretty much match. I would guess the beverage consoles behind the copilot were probably all the same too back then. Bruce probably made them in his spare time.

Thanks Bruce.  Funny my father would say that almost verbatim.  Nothing else can compare, so lets keep her working.
I always thought JW was some law firm for some reason.

N840JW doesn't appear to have any beverage consoles or modules. Most of them still have the one from the factory on the right side (behind the copilot seat), but the left side ones were often removed or modified. Mine, for instance, has a bunch of shelves behind the pilot's seat. Many of them, including N840JW, have removed the left side one in order to extend the seat tracks.
