Engine Monitors - JPI EDM 730, 760, 960
« on: December 03, 2016, 12:46:39 pm »
I purchased a used JPI EDM760 (from a Baron upgrading) for installation in my 1966 680FL.  Unfortunately, there is no STC for 680s even though there are multiple 500s and even a 685.

Looking over the JPI documentation, it appears there is an STC to allow the install of two EDM 730s or I can knock over a couple of liquor stores for the STC'd EDM 960 with all the bells and whistles.

Anyone operating a 760 in a 680?  Any thoughts on two x 730s?  Cost and efficiency of the 960?

Very strange.  I have a 680FP that already had a JPI 760 in it.  I upgraded to the 790 and they had all of the airplane and instrument info when we called them.  The avionics shop nor JPI mentioned that it could not be installed in my plane.  I never looked for the original STC since it had been installed years earlier but maybe they never had one?  Anyway,  Would take FAA with guns to get mine out now so not saying much more. :-)
